Disclaimer: A goal of the Aggregation program is to produce savings for customers, but savings cannot be guaranteed compared to the utility’s basic service rate which changes every three months for industrial customers and every six months for residential and small commercial customers. The Aggregation program seeks to provide price stability and average savings over the full term of the program, but because future basic service rates are not known, there is no guarantee of savings.
***JULY 2019 UPDATE***
Eversource summer rates announced –
WinPower rate for residential account holders at near parity with Eversource AND with 5% more renewably sourced electricity
In July of 2017, WinPower, our town’s Community Choice Electricity program was launched. First and foremost, WinPower promised to provide price stability when compared to Eversource Basic Service rates. This resulted in an amazing 85% town participation rate. But WinPower also hoped to generate savings for residents.
Today, we are excited to announce that the WinPower rate will once again be lower than newly announced Eversource Basic Service winter rates. For those who opted out in the past, now is a perfect time to give the program another chance. In 2019, WinPower will not only keep its promise of price stability, but it will also be 21.5% lower for residents than Eversource’s winter rate (January – June 2019) and will do so by including 5% more local renewable energy than what is required by the state.
Another promise WinPower made was to offer an electricity supply product that contained more renewable energy.
WinPower 100 – 100% Local Renewable Energy
WinPower 100 includes 100% local renewable energy and will also be below Eversource’s Basic Service Residential winter rate. WinPower 100 helps support and grow clean energy infrastructure in the Commonwealth while massively reducing CO2 emissions associated with power generation, the single largest human source of such emissions.

WinPower promised to work for savings when it first launched in July 2017. In 2018, that promise became a reality. Our community electricity aggregation program not only achieves substantial savings over Eversource currently, it does so by including 5% more local renewable energy than required by state law.
If you opted out of the program previously, now is the time to opt back in.
